When I think of truly iconic motifs in Fairfield County, the stone bridge in Old Greenwich's Binney Park immediately comes to mind. Go to any local art show and you'll see that bridge in photographs, watercolors, pastels and oil paintings. I set my easel up one afternoon late last summer and gave it my all, trying to capture the lush green colors, the magical reflection of the bridge in the water. But it didn't really sing to me until I came home and added the swan beneath the bridge. On any other day, he might have been there.
