I can't imagine a year going by without a painting trip or two to Martha's Vineyard. I'm lucky to have a close friend with a fantastic house high on a hill in Chilmark. We call it "The Big House" and it comes with a "Little House" down the hill. When one is vacant, he invites me to come paint and I'm there in a heartbeat. Here's my favorite view in early June. The tall grass, the stone wall, the osprey nest, the path to the Little House, the cliffs at Aquinnah - it's all there and I never get tired of it. I've painted the same view several times over the years and I only hope I'm getting closer to capturing its magic.
